Effective Blogging to Attract Customers

Blogging as Marketing Tool to Attract Customers?
"That’s a question that has stumped many businesses, especially solo professionals and entrepreneurs who don’t have much  budget for marketing. So, one of the most effective and reliable ways to attract customers online is through blogging."
The Benefits of Blogging For Your Business

Aside from attracting customers, blogging brings lots of benefit for businesses online. Blogging can :-

Enhance your brand and position your company as leaders in your field
Attract new businesses and get noticed by the media or industry field
Generate revenue by selling advertising space in your blog
Improve customer relations by staying in contact with your customers
Help to build customer loyalty and increase your website traffic

It would be helpful to think of a blog as your business' TV and radio station and newspaper all rolled into one. This way, blogging becomes your platform to get your message out to potential customers in a low cost way. Unlike traditional media, blogs are two way conversations and much more engaging to customers.

Planning a Blog For Your Business

Planning is usually critical for success, and blogs are no different. So, if you don't have any blogging goals, how will you achieve them? Once you have goals, you can plan how to get there. There may be many incremental steps, including learning how to blog well. Sometimes, planning is everything, and that certainly applies to blogs. Ideally you should spend time working on these elements rather than diving straight in and writing your first post.

Guidelines For Successful Blogs

Here are some basic suggestions and ideas of what businesses can do when starting a blog.

DO

Write passionately about your company and its products or services. If you are not a true believer, why are you blogging on your company's behalf?
Put other employees on display. Conduct interviews with other passionate workers who don't have a blog but whose insights are relevant to the theme of your own blog.
Focus your blog on a theme and an audience.
Keep posts short, for the most part. Longer, analytical posts are acceptable now and then, but not on a regular basis. Under 1,000 words is a good goal.
Link. Linking is at the heart of blogging.

DON'T

Pitch product or sales in your blog. That’s what advertising is for. Readers will turn off instantly if they find themselves being pitched.
Post in haste. You many regret what you've written if you don't take the time to review it carefully, particularly if you are responding to criticism or fast-breaking events.
